Hi,

My politics are on an unusual spectrum. While I identify with the radical left in most regards, I have found it difficult to apply these critiques in a pragmatic way in a situation where most people’s lives, including my own, are principly governed by the need to pay bills and hold down jobs. As such, this blog is an attempt the formulate some of these positions into more concrete proposals and revisit the question of what is to be done.

At the same time, in far less exalted terms, I wanted to share some of thoughts on books that I like (hence the endless reviews) and make Scottish politics a little bit more visible in the blogosphere. This isn’t to say I want to represent party agendas, but simply that a lot that matters happens here and I think it’s important to focus political commentary in areas beyond Westminster.
